Services
- Adoption and Rescue: Ferret Services of Freedom is a
NH licensed ferret shelter, formed in August of 1995. Ferret Services
of Freedom was incorporated in April 1998 and received their 501c3
determination from the IRS in August 1999.
- Boarding: We also provide
boarding services. If you are going away and need someone to watch your
ferret(s), we can help. We have been boarding ferrets for many
years. If you have to leave home, wouldn't you feel better knowing
that your ferrets are in the care of a knowledgeable ferret
person?
- Education: We are happy to answer questions should you need
advice or information regarding your ferret and his care.
- Books across NH: Ferret Services of Freedom has donated 2 books, "A
Practical Guide to Ferret Care" by Deborah Jeans and "The
Pet Ferret Owners Manual" by Judi A. Bell, DVM, PhD, to 19 libraries
across northern NH to date.
- Legislation for Ferrets: On
occasion we have been asked to assist with legislation issues
affecting ferrets in NH. While I don't enjoy speaking in public, if it
helps ferrets I will make an exception. We are very pleased to report
that we were involved with passing the law in NH requiring the minimum age
ferrets may be sold in pet shops at 8 weeks. We also testified in Maine and
helped a similar bill pass there!
- Low-Cost Rabies Clinics:
Low-cost ferret
rabies clinics are held each
spring and fall at the Fryeburg Veterinary Hospital in Fryeburg, Maine. A
great deal for anyone with multiple ferrets. No exam fee.
